MedTrust is currently seeking to hire a full time Psychiatric Technician for the following clinics at Camp Lejeune, NC: Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Program (SARP). Typical operating hours of the clinics are as follows:
Monday through Friday, between the hours of 0600-1800
The role of the Psychiatric Technician will assist in the care of outpatient clients performing assessments, facilitating recreational activities and observing patients behavior. Psychiatric Technicians will work closely with Psychologists, Clinical Social Workers and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners.

Psychiatric Technicians will assist in the following:
Regularly interface with staff and patients to assess needs and continuously improve the quality of service delivered.
Demonstrate sound psychiatric nursing theoretical and practical approaches in providing patient care.
Demonstrate a sound understanding and assists in the management of a therapeutic milieu; providing structure, social support, patient education, safety, and social skills training.
Monitor, escort, and/or act as a therapeutic participant in patient activities in the outpatient psychiatric clinic and outpatient programs.
Possess a minimum of 1 year full-time experience within the preceding 2 years as a Psychiatric Technician or LPN in a psychiatric setting.
Possess current certification as a Psychiatric Technician by the American Association of Psychiatric Technicians OR possess evidence of completion of Military Psychiatric Technician Training or Equivalent OR possess an Associate of Arts degree in a behavioral science, or a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, or a degree in Sociology or behavioral science related field.
Possess a current, unrestricted license to practice as an LVN/LPN in any one of the 50 States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam or the U.S. Virgin Islands and current state or national certification in the subspecialty of Psychiatry.
May be required to provide Letters of Recommendation from Previouse Employers Physciains or Nurses.
